i know i keep plugging these without any feedback but oh well here goes LOL

They really are very well run with marked routes all the way round and great turn-outs - but not a race so very few if any jeyboys with shaved legs riding over-suspended bikes!! Very Happy

This one is the hardest on their calendar so is a great test of fitness/progress for the year.

This is from their site..... 'It's the big one next month. As part of our South Downs September, we're back at Queen Elizabeth Country Park, quite simply the toughest physical challenge on the Evans Trail Ride circuit! It's an amazing ride with stunning views; don't miss it!'

Only £10 for the standard route normally around 26miles

Hello Hamster,

i've fancied doing one of these(evans' event) for a while
and as i did the southdowns way a few of weeks ago I know it will be really good riding.

to be honest , the waymarked trail appeals more and more.

got to check with my leader if i can play out that day.

but i am aiming to partake of more organised rides in the future, would really like to to do a meridian 100k! pleasure & pain. Smile

will let you know if i'm in.

J.

I was going to ask if I can do it with you, but since I let her loose with a mach3 and let her shave my legs last night, I guess I won't be able to now Sad Sad Wink Oh well I suppose I better give in, and let her "sugar" me this weekend instead of riding. Shocked Razz Cool Cool Cool Very Happy

Hamster,

I am liking the look of the QE Park and will probably be going myself. What time are you planning on getting there/getting started?

I'll probably aim for 9:30 for a 10ish start so might see you there?

I'd say share a car but I am stopping over at a friend's down that way after.....

hi gary,

i'm hoping to be at the park by 9ish but if it is busy as in april it took 30 mins of queueing before the off - due to the proximity of a public area they tend to only let 2 or 3 start at once rather than the usual 8-10 groups. with that in mind i hope to set off by 9.30 cos i need to get back home as early as poss.

thx for the car suggestion - i've roped in a xc 'pro' who's training for D2D but i don't know yet if he's going to coach me round (hoping to get close to 3 hours) or is going tearing off on his own (i think he could post 2 hours!!)

hopefully see you there

ham

Having checked the times for the April ride there on the Trail Break website, I am primarily aiming for a Silver and then under 3 hours as a secondary goal.

The times seem longer than other rides, maybe slightly longer or, more likely, just harder hills to climb!

Silver seems to end around the 3hrs 15 mins zone.......

I've got some gears to sort out tonight then, best I log off and get riding home soon (16 miles!!)!!
