Hello all, not sure when I'll be rejoining the foray. Did a short ride Sunday..lovely to bump into the lads...but the old saddle sore just won't leave it out! Eyes water at the sight of a saddle.Off to the doc tommorrow.See how it goes.

| Please keep us informed. Maybe a new gel seat. What can I say. Maybe Tonto can sort you out some acupuncture to the area. Hope to see you soon, Mike. How's Caz,s ankle problem. You did not mention whether you met up on Sunday. |

The Asstory so far..
Met Caz at Hollow ponds and did a couple of laps. I ignored my arse as it was just joy to be back on the machine. Caz seemed confident of he foot region too. After lots of tea, a nasty burger and a rather large "roll" we headed off..The days passed...The foot side of things was leaning towards "not ready yet" as was the rear end of the situation.
Getting fed up with it now, so went to the Doc...Antibiotics and a chance to get felt up by the nurse. Great. In the meantime, I've been looking into softer saddles and maybe a turbo trainer for some out the saddle riding. I've even been tempted to run the route to high beech on saturday. |

Personally I wouldn't bother with a gel saddle, it's saddle time you need to build up that area. Also try reviewing you riding style in bumpy, rooty areas, you will find it helps if you get out of the saddle across those parts, or even to just lift your ass for a second as the back end drops into a hollow. On flat but bumpy areas click up two or three gears when pedaling out of the saddle, you will find it easier. Try popping into a good road bike shop, like Ciclos Uno in Hainult, speak to Trevor or Ewan and ask for some ass cream, or indeed, pop into Boots and get some Sudocrem (sp)? and get your girlfriend/misses, or indeed one of the girls on a ride to apply it for you before riding and after bathing . If that fails, then go spend your money on a saddle.
Cheers.

Hi there
Thought I would speak from the depths of frustration and despair that I'm currently inhabiting. The slog on the getting the foot better is taking forever. THe pain is so random, I can't seem to pin point what i do that causes the pain and it's not even excrutiating pain, just enough to make me think if I do too much I will make it worse.
I have been to Physio for ultrasound, even though they don't think it's inflamed; forked out on podiatry assessment (told me loads of stuff I already knew and made me buy expensive, new shoes). Paradoxically the pain eases when I wear heels - Should get a few laughs on the bike! and I've been pummelled and prodded having sports massage (if only I was a masochist).
The long and short of it is that I have absolutely no idea when my next proper ride will be. Was feeling very smug after a little mooch around Hollow Ponds with Pete (off you go with your double entendres, Paul) but although pain free for two days, now pain has returned. Am learning to be patient in my old age.
Miss you
CAz |
