Both days 10.00 am Bike Shed. May do Hainault Forest will decide on day. Owing to my mothers poor health lately find it difficult to guarantee be able to get away for an awayday biking but would be able.to organise same, sugestions being Aston Hill & Wendover.I Know someone called John who lives just near there may be he would like to post up a ride before winter sets in where he can put his experience gained in Greece up to the test, except for trying to knock down trees with his shoulder.
Talking about Winter (it must be just round the corner), I am not keen on cycling if its to Wet, Muddy or Freezing through the wilds of Epping Forest, But want to keep the fitness built up why not join me on a 2 1/2 hour road route on the weekend the forest is not accessable. You can always put slicks on your moutain bike or just get a cheap road bike. Disregard all this if global warming kicks in and the forest stays warm and dry over winter. Keep me Posted.

Hi all.. well up for an away day.
Was provisionally looking at a south or north down epic but I am happy to go where the crowd is? Aston Hill & Wendover could be good. Any preferences in Micks probable absence? |

Hi Guys & Gals,
After the pathetic failure to ride last weekend (visit to GFs family instead!) I am definitely up for it this Saturday (possible Sunday too) and was wondering if someone could tell me the state of the trails?
Basically, I just wanted to know whether my Conti Verts/Explorers would still be OK or will I need more 'mud-friendly' tyres as I have been away from the Forest for nearly a month!!
Also, my rear gears are giving me jip and before I spend all this evening resetting them, does the Bike Shed open early enough to do them pre-ride for me and would they likely squeeze me in first if they do?
Cheers,
See you tomorrow (hopefully with gears!!) _________________ Too many trails, not enough time! |
