Great ride last Saturday, 11 riders which enabled the ride to break into 2 groups allowing everbody to get the most out of the ride. Well this Saturday will again be 10am at the Bike Shed, hope to see more of you. I hope all of you who have suffered injuries will be back soon, maybe you need to contact Jayne, after her piece to camera advocated homopathic remedies.
Sunday by popular demand, Swinly Forest, see meeting points for directions, meeting there at 11am top right hand corner of car park near bike rental.Alternative departure bike shed south woodford 9.30 am, for those offering or needing a lift.

Great ride last sat - Mukesh and his new route made a nice change - very technical and I wouldnt fancy it in the wet. The bombholes were a nice surprise.
Count me in for both this weekend. |

My back is finally feeling better, so I'll be joining you for the saturday ride! Unfortunately, I'm now completely unfit, so I'll be the one struggling along at the back, counting the minutes till my cup of tea at High Beech. I'll meet you at the roundabout up from Snaresbrook car park.

| Looks like I will be unable to take ride at Swinly, but Lefty (Jon) has stepped into the breach. Look for him at Swinly he should be with a group of New Zealanders we met today, by the way I hope you had a nice fast ride back after I left you today I got the feeling I may have been riding to slow. If you read this Steve I hope you still go to Swinley it is a good blast. As for Jon in Greece ,look forward to hearing your exploits. |

Ride back was good. I managed 3 crashes in a row near the logs I always get a bit ropey after a big egg and bacon.. takes me a while to settle down.
I think we all ran out of steam toward the end but it was a great ride none the less. Shout out to our Kiwi friends we met today come riding again soon.
Tomorrow - Swinley - I will be catching the train from Waterloo where I will be meeting the Kiwis from last week Charles, Shell + Tony. We will be getting there about 10.30.
Steve if you are up for it send me a PM with your number and we can arrange a meet point as we will be there at 10.30.
I will be taking camera so might have some good pics to post tomorrow. |

Swinley. Yay.
Who: Steve (spec full susser), Brendan (spec full susser), Jon (Dale susser), Charles (Hardcore Hard tail), Tony (Santa Cruz)
Comedy start with me telling everyone to get off at the wrong station... ride to the forest (2 miles) resulted in Charles ssssssshearing his rear derailular in half, saving himself from getting broadsided by a car. He then decided to hire a hard tail form the local bike shop. A different style needed style needed from his full susser but he got through the trails pretty well. We never found the killer trail that we came across last time but found a few more sweet ones to link together. Spent a fair amount of time trying to work out where we were, just like last time but I think a few trips to Swinley are needed before that stops.
Good riding though and some of those steep bits seemed a bit more knarley than before... the ruts were deeper and the drops bigger. Felt lucky to get down a few of them. All good though.
Getting home proved a bit of a challenge for charles with no drive train. Problem solved when he found a dog lead in the woods and got a tow all the way to the station from Tony. See pics below.
We got a couple of pics.. not many but its a start. Ill make sure I take a few more to get some visuals on the site.
