Sory to those who may have wanted a ride to leith Hill last Sunday but it seems you had a good ride in the Epping Forest anyway with Mukesh. For this weekend Saturday& Sunday Epping Forest Rides at !0.00am as usual, But there will also be an additional ride to Aston Hill on Sunday leaving the bike Shed at 8.30 am journey time about 1hr 15min to 1 1/2 hours which I will take. If you have never been there check it out, purpose made mtb routes with good downhill sections, good for improving your skill on things you don't find in Epping. If you fancy joining me please post if posible. Don't forget I still have a few tickets left for our promo night on the 25/July. Don't be left out. I will be present at Beastway this Wednesday (but not riding) only two left to go, so if you haven't tried it you will only regret it, just ask those that have done it!

Very tempted with Aston Hill esp as its almost my neck of the woods. Dont forget its about a £5 for a day membership but you have a nice secure car park and somewhere to chill out for a while. Mick can I also have a ticket for the Greek night, can I order now and pay on Sunday?
Cheers

Thanks again for the ride on Sunday, Mukesh!
I still don't know how you do not get us all lost at least once, I'd probably still be out there if I was riding alone.....
I was quite surprised that I managed to 'keep up' on my old rigid commuter so I am guessing that you took it a bit gentler than you would have done without me! I did feel that I had an advantage on some of the climbs but the bumpy/rooty sections did give my wrists a bit of grief.
Maybe soon we'll get to ride when it's not so cold or I'll have to dig out the leggings!
I hope to make it on Tuesday, I'll call you to confirm.
I'm off to find a 27mm seatpost so I can get the Kona back for the next ride!! _________________ Too many trails, not enough time! |

Hi eveyone,
Both days riding in Epping were good. On saturday, the usual stalwarts with Mike, Caz, Pete, myslef and joned by John one of our recent riders.I had pedal probelms and Mike did not wait for me at the usual place at Woodford Golf Club, but I manged to hook with them on the ride later on. Mike varied the ride through Loughton and with three stops for tees and food. Leisurly on the way up to High Beech but normal on the way back. Sex being on the mind of some of us and the convesation at the Bikes Tea Hut was tending to get a little bit risque. Caz wash your mouth. as I said I am more of an action man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
On Sunday I was joined by Tonto, new guys Steve and at the Canoeing Lake by Gary from Cricklewood. We pushed it and Gary did well on his hard tail to keep up. No Gary I was not easing up for you so you know your fitness has already got better in a week. Keep, it up by being a regular. I will see if I can get lost in the forest for you next time. Steve was out for the first time and I hope he got something out of the ride. His plans changed by the minute and resulted in us doing the ride at a fast pace which was good. Tonto brought up the rear on his horse. Thanks Tonto, for staying at the back and making sure that the others did not get lost. I hope the boarding up went Ok Steve!!!!!!!!!. Good riding lads and hopefully the previous regulars will come and join us. We will start to vary the routes in the coming weeks. |

Not totally sure what Mukesh meant but I was actually on my old mid-90's fully rigid Diamondback commuter (complete with bell, reflectors and lock still attached!) so I am guessing that he meant well done for not letting my wrists snap......
Thanks also to Paul (Tonto?) for bringing up the rear to check I made it!!
Was good to meet Aleric and Emily too (Aleric put me onto you guys via the BikeMagic forum) so I am beginning to meet more of the 'family'.
