Hey guys, thanks for the ride yesterday. Swinley Forest is such a great place to play in and so close to central London. I really liked the nice smooth singletrack trails through pine forest and the soil was so dry and grippy that I surprised myself when I managed to make it up most of the climbs.

Who: Mick (Spcialized dually), Nick (Specialized hardtail), Pete (GT rigid - but wished he was riding a speeder bike from Star Wars), Jane (Gary Fisher dually), Deb (Yeti dually), Mukesh (Whyte dually), Leon (Kona rigid ss)
Distance/time: ~3.5 hours
Mechanicals: Mukesh's missing moccasins
Stacks: Two - me OTB twice, the first while fooling around on top of a hill, the second while not committing to a jump... I think I decided to brake on the way up the hump causing my weight to go forward and the front wheel to drop as it went over the crest. Now I have a couple of nice swollen lumps on my left knee that almost resemble the pair of humps I stacked on.

Made my own red polka dot jersey on the way home but won't mention how it was done.

Indeed a trully wonderful ride. Lovely pine forest, with high leafage (word?) you could see for quite some way! Great pics once more Leon, and yes, I'm trading the GT for a Speeder bike...I have to admit I struggled a bit. Either as a result of being a bit dead in the legs from Saturday or just plain slow I'm not sure, but it didn't really matter as the downhills more than made up for the awkward climbing! Thanks all for another super days riding!
Pete
