after a conversation with lefty and mike at the tea hut on saturday I seem to have lost my solo night riding mojo.
went out tonight and kept thinking of what might happen if I had a serious off.
took away some of the thrill even with fireworks all round giving that commando in enemy territory atmosphere
kept feathering the brakes at any slight indication of hazard
will have to do a few group nightrides to regain the confidence
musings over

Reminds me of the time I went riding with a chap called 'Paul'.
After a conversation about how I don't like riding on 'the edge', but I'm OK so long as I look where I'm going rather than 'down'. Having got halfway along an 'edge' trail, paul decides to stop proceedings to show me the drop!
I had to walk the rest of the trail....
Come on guys, help tonto out with his fear - or at least ensure he has someone along to call 999. _________________ Mountain Biking Holidays in Greece

Where meeting for a group nightride Tonight at the pub at High Beech for around 6:45pm.
There should be a fair few of us , if you fancy it your more than welcome.
I think were also out of Thursday night aswell.
I'm guessing from your post you were nightriding solo? If so your a braver man than me! Epping Forest scares the crap out of me at the best of times but its a million times worse in the dark. |

not epping - I'm not suicidal
just local (Danbury)
went out again tonight and felt a lot better - it's just the roots under leaves giving me the jitters now
will try and hook up with the ehc for a ride soon _________________ it's all good in the wood! |

Lukeee - let me know if you are night riding in Epping again.
Ive been doing it solo for ages now (couple times a week) and god dam in Epping it gives you the creeps. Im used to it now but at least once a ride at night I get the jitters. I do the routes that we do in the day light and they are a great test and when it gets a bit creepy you just pedal faster |
