Hi guys & gals,

There was talk of a possible 'away-day' to Bedgebury this Sunday and I was wondering how likely this was? I am up for another jaunt there with my mate who lives in Kent (it's our 'local' run) and wondered if we'd be joined by any others from the Forest? We went there 2 weekends ago and it was dry but not as dusty as Epping was on Sunday, a lot of the surface partly consisting of typical 'man-made' shale/small stones but with roots, etc too.

We'll be getting there for about 11-11:30am and will only do one lap (due to his lack of fitness). I'd expect you guys to start earlier than that (?) but you would probably do two laps of the 14km, mainly singletrack, loop with a fuel-stop at the the cafe, in the lovely wooden Trail Centre on the lake, after the first one.

We could then possibly meet you all on your second lap. Any brave & skilled riders may want to attempt the tricks test area (some bits difficult but only inches off the ground) or the 'North Shore' area (some difficult, some very difficult and most 5-6ft off the ground!!) instead/as well.

If you are a bit stuck with the partner/family, bring them along! Even if they do not want to walk/ride the family paths or play in the children's areas, they can wander around the Pinetum (Pine tree garden), supposedly the best in Europe.

That way you only leave them long enough to hammer the trail and they get a day out as well!!

It could be an Epics' "Family Day Out"?

The forecast is sun and 19`C.

OK All,

Due to overwhelming demand ( Rolling Eyes ) we'll forget this for this week.

Would be good to do in few weeks though, there's some good riding around Bedgebury...

Re this weekend is to short notice, but having been there agree it really is a good venue and last time was quiker to get to than Swinly, about 1 hour 10 mins. Would propably make this area are first away day trip, but would like to get numbers up in the weekend forest runs before start doing trips away.Would like to have an awayday every other Sunday, how do the rest of you feel about that. The away days would propably be
Swinly, Aston Hill, North/South Downs and the odd trip to South Wales.
Hope to see you all at Beastway aswell.
