Hi all,
Really enjoyed the ride today - was my first time out in a group - and look forward to another jolly soon.
I'm entering the above event (standard course) and was wondering if anyone wanted to come along to either 'compete' individually' or enter as a team. Never been riding in north downs before so seems a good way of starting with an organised event, and can be taken as a fun ride or more seriously - however you feel.
Thx again for the ride.

Hi all,
Did the Evans' Shackleford event yesterday and it was fantastic. The weather held out and the course wasn't too muddy although there were a couple of places where the sand was too deep and you had to get off and push the steed!!
Lots of posturing from the serious-heads with their super-steeds but a nice enough bunch. They say it's not a race but people can't help themselves can they???
For a first time on an unknown course and with no granny ring for more than half of the climbs i was delighted to finish the 25m (42k) course in gold standard time of 2hr42.
Roll on QE Park on April 8th if anyone is interested. The events seem very well organised and the course totally flagged and marked for easy navigation. I've got someone coming down with me in the car for this one but again might be nice to get a few there and ride as a group.
See you soon
