Bloody mechanicals!!
Just given up on getting my bike going for tomorrow, rear wheel is alarmingly buckled and 2 spokes snapped. Have already stripped, cleaned and reset my disc brakes (after the crap they were covered in last weekend) and tweaked my gears to work again.
I think I need new rims on the rear though, as I keep snapping spokes. This may have something to do with me weighing 14.5 stone and the rims only being 16mm wide? Have already ordered some much sturdier 21mm ones which should be here for next weekend.
To add to the problem, even my rigid commuter is unusable due to worn and wobbly rear axle/bearings. I don't think it could survive an off-road ride.

Not sure what happened on Sunday. I waited at the bike shop for a while and assumed that you were all a bit brighter than I was and stayed home! True it was a thunder storm of large proportions and most of the trails were like small rivers. The stream crossings were a bit like crossing the mississippi and a lot of the trail junctions were cut off due to flooding which led me to a new trail that ended in yet another bit of flooding. Add the lightning and wet earphones and all in all it was rather good.
