Riding Sat/Sun 19/20 JulyWell lets hope for some dry weather, both days 10.00 am start, South Woodford meeting point, fast & furious for Saturday, hopefully. More leisurely for Sunday, but than to can change if everybody is up for a faster ride.
Nice to see afew of the new regulars on the Beastway on Wednesday, felt it was the best route up to now, or it might just have been the first time nothing went wrong with my bike, apolgies to Oliver for calling you Chriss! must have just been the heat of the moment.
Regards to All, Mike.
P.S. thanks Ze for the support, you can hear your voice for miles.

I'd love to join you guys on Sunday, if you don't mind having a 16 year old come along. I have a decent £300 bike, and after riding 5+ miles around Wanstead Flats/Wanstead Park area every day for the past couple of weeks I think I'll be able to keep up. I'm just desperate to try out something new.

Re FloggerHi, you are more than welcome to join us for Sunday, age is of no matter, as long as you enjoy biking, but you will need a helmet and glasses,
See you sunday, Mike.

sorry i wasn't there today, well i was, sort of. I was running quite late so tried to catch up by riding along some of the central paths and cutting you off but I wasn't able to find you after a bit of searching so I gave up and you got back home now. Sorry!

Sorry I never made it today. Thirty seconds after setting off my rear tyre went completely flat. You last weeks without any problems and then as soon as you get to the ride you're looking forward to... I hate my pebbledash wall...
Realised it's time I should get some spare inner tubes. How can I check I'm getting the right type? For example what's the difference between '26 x 1.25/1.75 Presta' and 'C786 26 x 1.75/2.35 Presta'? Also, is an inner tube an inner tube or are some better than others?

Hi Flogger
Some may argue, but essentially for the type of riding you will be doing an inner tube is an inner tube.... no need to go spending loads.
The best thing to do is go along to your local bike shop and grab one there. Building up a relationship with your local shop is a great thing to do. They should be helpful and be able to advise.... don't worry about being a novice.. we all started there !
in answer to your question
26 x 1.25/1.75 Presta' and 'C786 26 x 1.75/2.35 Presta
The 26 = Wheel size
1.25/1.75 = how "fat" the tube is. Fatter Mountain bike tyres have fatter tubes.
If you look around your tyre you should see the size. Just get a tube to match.... Again your local shop will help if needed
