I have family visiting to do plus finishing off the unpacking, etc. after the move.
Also, I'm now near Slough! Still want at least one ride at Epping this weekend though!!
I think that the 8:30 start with the 'Cru is looking even more unlikely than before.....

Gary i'm having even less luck getting anyone out at 7.30!! i think i need to reassess what i'm doing wrong in terms of late saturday night drinking

I could manage 8.30, but 7.30 cuts too far into my beauty sleep.
can do sunday or monday.
Gary if you are near Slough you are not too far from Swinley, I would not miss Epping if I was close to 'the Coedy of the South'

Riding Easter Weekennd,After a long delay, hope to be riding (slowly) Sat/Sun 7/8 April leaving bike shed 10.00 am. Any one joining me. Mother now out of hospital after two weeks though nothing really achieved accept myself and another visitor getting a hospital infection resulting in vomitting at one end and something unpleasant at the other. Another reason for the slow ride. I just hope there are no health scares and am able to get out. If I cannot make it will try to update the posting.

I am up for a very very slow ride, will be the first of the year and first after dislocating shoulder. Still do not have full movement so will have to be a little careful. Not sure if i will be up for the whole ride.

weekend ridingWas out last sunday but i have to say my heart wasn't in it. I was spoilt by the blinding trails and first class riding company in Afan. Missed the Heales group and couldn't summon the grunt to give it some wellie on my own. Knocked off a little circuit up to Butlers retreat but that was it. Still found it a but soft and grungy in places over towards chingford but i reckon it would be drizabone towards Loughton.
Going on my hols next week so am looking for volunteers for an early 9.00am dept from the underpass on Friday or Saturday - or perhaps a 10am start from High beach for a punt over towards Theydon or Loughton. I want to be back for 1.30pm latest. All welcome.

Friday FrolicsSweet John,
Fancy meeting up at say 10.15 at the usual hut at high beech for a brew and bacon buttie and we can have a recce over toward Theydon & Loughton?

Hi Mike, you may remember me from about Aug last year (keywords: Harlow, tubby, slow, walking). If you're planning a slow one on Saturday I'd like to put my name down. I've got another mate who fancies it but probably is the same level of fitness as me.
Again don't want to ruin anyones day so if your slow = my punishing, we'd rather keep going for as long as possible then drop off, which after my christmas could be before we reach the viaduct... Cheers, Richard.

Sounds good mate.... Wales did destroy the drive train on the bike so I will need to fix that this evening. As long as that goes well see you there at 10.15. Ill buzz ya if there are any probs.
Oh yea and before I forget Dan have u got any pics from Afan. Richie sent me his to add t mine and im about to to pop them on the thread.
Cheers

I will be out out Saturday and Sunday, body and mind permitting. This is my second ride of the year so I will definitely be taking it slow (are you listening Mr Brooks). Is is really dry out there, enough to ditch the trail rakers? - seems like I only put them on yesterday.

It is lovely and fast our there folks - ground is hard and dry packed in most places. Came across a couple of bogs a the bottom of the gullies and that was about it.
Trails looking really sweet over at loughton & theydon - highly recommended.
Enjoy!

Guys,
Family engagements (plus the fact they are near Southend and I'm near Slough!) have buggered my chance of a Sunday ride, as I planned.
However, does anyone fancy making the most of the fact that we have Monday off work?
I'd definitely be interested in a 10am ride (coming from Southend, so earlier is a bit of a problem...)
Somebody must be up for it?
Cheers,
Gary

Gary
shame you can't make Sunday
If no -one responds for Monday why not try Danbury?
I'ts a lot nearer Southend than Epping and I could show you around some good trails. two or three hours of swoopy swervy singletrack ( with the odd bit of road and canal path)
Of course this offer is open to everyone else.

Paul,
As a BH Monday Epping ride has not grabbed much interest here, I will seriously consider your kind offer!
I'll PM you in the next couple of hours if I decide to take you up on it!
Cheers,
Gary
