Ride, Sat/sun 17/18 March.

After some absence due to weather, Skiing, my mothers continued illness, apathy, weight gain, I am once more ready to blaze the trails. (Subject to none of the previous getting in the way). Intend to leave the bike shed at South Woodford on both days at 10.00 am. If you would like to join me why not post up a reply, it least it might make me feel more commited if the weather changes, anyone else see the gadget show with the three mountain bikes against each other, comments please quite like the idea of the batteries. The apathy and weight gain referred above is mine not my mothers!

Me too with, potentially, my new housemate as he'd like to get riding again. He's stopped since coming back from Cardiff and likes the sound of Epping Forest.

Unfortunatly owing to a relapse in my mothers health will be unable to join you riding this weekend, hope you won,t miss me to much.

if i haven't said before Mick sorry to hear about your mum and all the best on that front.

as for conditions, well!!! the runs down from HB are pretty dry and fast, plenty of good lines where it gets a tad damp. However, once down the bottom of that downhill (the one usually taken UP to the Wellington) it's pretty grim. Hard to link the dry sections because the traditional swamps are still just that!!

went over to Pole Hill and again a mixed bag, plenty of really dry bits down by the golf course but then sudden knee deep clag!!

would definitely recommend heading more towards Loughton side and north at the mo.

scout over and out! Very Happy

Hi there
Don't know what you're all talking about. It's blooming lovely out there in that there forest..................
Good to bump in to a few guys at the tea hut on Saturday and sorry for not recognising some of you. No cure for the ankle at the moment, so have decided to just try riding and ignore the pain. So far no adverse effects.

Hope to be out more often now that the weather's bucked up. Any plans for an Easter jaunt?

awesome out there today - 4 hours of fabulous riding and as predicted dry as a bone around Loughton. flying off the roots XC stylee, whooping descents, loads of really firm climbs (450m of climbing around the supposedly 'flat' forest).

surprisingly didn't see another cyclist until the last knockings towards the tea hut!!! (maybe i know trails very few others do - i wish!)
Very Happy

enjoy it out there guys (and gal)
