North Downs 10/02/2007Hi all. To avoid the mud madness of Epping I'm off to the North Downs this Sunday. Let me know if anyone is up for it.
Will be heading down by train but will be stopping by Nirvana cycles in Westcott which is a good place for anyone coming by car.
Trails are probably the best ive ridden near London.. lots of organic plus some well maintained crafted stuff littered with drops and berms too. It is sandy too so drains very well.
Let me know if you are interested.

I'm up for that - was thinking about the Thetford race but my training is not up to four hours of non stop hammering.
What time are you due to arrive at Nirvana?

We will be getting there for just before 11 as our train gets in for around 10.30 from Victoria. Should be me (Jon - Red and Blue prophet) and a couple others ( Shell and Charles - both on Santa Cruz)
There is usually a big ride which leaves at 11 from the shop which often splits into 2 Fast and Slow - dependent on numbers. We are a bit in between so we will probably make our own route. If you are itching for a bit of a thrash feel free to join one of those groups
Ill PM you with my mobile.. cheers

Few pics from the ride Once again all my pics have the food stop as the focus hehehe
Started off with showers but by the end we had SUN.. ya. Mud was mental in places but less tacky than Epping. I plan to do another trip down in a couple of week and will post to see if anyone else fancies it.. should be a peach.
Didnt get the camera out till the cake and soup stop.
It was mental windy so we all had to hide behind the tower for shelter and to protect our cakes
Paul getting stuck into some much needed grub
Slow on the shutter... missing charles popping a wheelie
Shell cruuuuuzing
Mud was managagable in most places and only resulted in a couple of comedy crashes
Near the end of the ride
YAYAYAYAYAYAY sun sun sun
