Dialled Bikes Rough Ride - Sunday 4th June 2006

Just thought I'd stick this in here incase it got lost...

For 2006 Rough Ride have linked up with independent British bike manufacturers Dialled Bikes (www.dialledbikes.com) as their main sponsor. Their focus is on getting out into the rough stuff and riding for fun, so they are the perfect match for the Rough Ride - oh, and they produce some top bikes too. As part of our link up, Rough Ride will be offering several frames as spot prizes to riders - including one for a man, one for a woman and one for a junior. And all will be drawn from a hat - no prizes for getting back first!

Now in their 4th year, Rough Ride will once again be offering riders a choice of single loop 73km or 40km routes, on glorious moorland trails away from farmland, and with NO forestry. As in previous years, the Dialled Bikes Rough Ride will not be a race, but will be a challenging ride - for 2006 the 73km route will include more than 6000 feet of climbing, and is around 85% off-road, while the 40km route will have over 3000ft of climbing.

In 2006 Rough Ride will be using feedback from riders to make some improvements to the event. The biggest change will be an earlier staggered start (voted for 8 to 1 by riders in our email poll!) - 10am and 10.15am. Other minor changes will include laminated bike numbers, an extra portaloo or two out on the course, even better signage of the cut-off etc.

Rough Ride will also be making some changes to the route - not because there was anything wrong this year (quite the opposite in fact - feedback on that has been 100% positive), but because we want to keep it fresh.
On-line entries are now open at www.roughride.co.uk, with a postal entry form available for download.
