anyone planning on doing one two or all of the Thetford Winter Series?
first one is on sunday 26th nov. - choice of 2 or 4hr 'enduro'

Hmmmm.....
Sounds interesting although Thetford is a bit of a haul. Could you give me some more info? Are there any costs involved other than petrol and parking?

i lifted this from the website.....
"Registration sign-on is from 8:30am – 10:30am the day of the race.
Registration Guidelines:
Riders must race all 3 Winter Series events to place in the final points table.
If you are racing for points, you must race in the same category for all 3 events.
Race prizes will not be available on the day, but may be collected at the next event.
Overall series trophies will be presented at the third event.
We reserve the right to move any category with less than 3 riders into the next category.
If you spot a mistake in the race results, please notify us within 7 days.
Water will not be available on-site, so please remember to bring your own.
Sorry, no unicyclists or cyclo-cross bikes. No mini motorbikes on the arena or course.
2-Hour Solo Pre-Entry Race Day Entry
Male 18-39 £15 £20
Male 40+ £15 £20
Female 18+ £15 £20
Junior Male 14-17 £15 £20
Junior Female 14-17 £15 £20
4-Hour Solo Pre-Entry Race Day Entry
Male 16-39 £15 £20
Male 40+ £15 £20
Female 16+ £15 £20
Fun Ride Pre-Entry Race Day Entry
Mixed £12 £15
Hope that helps - from Waltham Abbey, Thetford/Brandon is approx. 70 miles so on a sunday morning should only take just over an hour to get there _________________ that humerus still ain't humorous |

OUCH!!!!!!!
was hard work - my hamstrings were shot after 1/2 hour so ended up plodding the rest of the time. i managed 5 laps in the 4 hours, but something to try and improve on in the second race.
good course, brilliantly marked and organised, great atmosphere _________________ that humerus still ain't humorous |
