The Marin Roughride 2008

http://www.roughride.co.uk

Calling all couch potatoes, it's time to stop watching telly tubbies
and brush the cobwebs off the bike in the shed. Spring has sprung
(sort of) the birds are tweeting and 300 of you appear to be out
there already in order to avoid embarrassment on the day.

We started taking entries a month later and we're already up to the
same numbers as this point last year. It's unlikely but possible that
we'll hit the entry limit so give your mates a prod now. Hell of the
North and the Dyfi both closed their entries early, much to some
regulars dismay.

We've tweaked the course and cut out some more road, not that there
was much to get rid of.

I'm interested in this, especially now that I'm up in Derby, as it's also quite a bit closer for me than you guys! My fitness will need to improve over the next few months but this may be the incentive I need. Who is doing this from the forum?

Am missing the Forest a little but that is tempered by being reasonably close to both Sherwood Pines and Cannock Chase which are both good places to ride and drain somewhat better than the Epping bog!

If any of you guys fancy a day trip, let me know and I'll try and arrange to ride with you. Although I am yet to venture there, I'd also be up for some riding in the Peaks, which start about 30 minutes drive away.

Hope to see some of you soon, even if it is during a weekend back Essex way to visit family (if I can wangle a morning out!),

Cheers,

Gary
