Good turnout over last weekend, 8 riders Sunday including three women, which made it a lot more pleasant, I trust the eye, headache & nausea has cleared Caz and you will be back again, even at Beastway! Anyway riding again 10.00 am from bike shed both days, we will be switching the route around within the forest as its now dryer. Jon where are you?.
As some of you may know we are also having a promotional night for are greek mtb enterprise on 25 July at the Karma Bar in Ilford where Alaric & Emily will be present, see me for tickets(£10.00) and details.

Hey there! Yes, I have now recovered - reckon it was workyitis, as I was back at work today after a week off that seemed like a month (at the time. After one day, seems as if I've never been away. the usual deal).
I am going to chicken out of Beastway yet again, but planning on coming down for a look and allay (or encourage) my fears and to offer support to the die hard competitors.
Will be out this weekend though. Really enjoyed the ride on Sunday, afflictions not withstanding.
Tree!

Leon.....I have let the side down and gone bouncy. Sad that it won't be documented on your legendary reports but you never know what's round the corner. And Cazza, fear the return to work....

I am so pathetic. Guess what stupidity overcame me tonight, so yet again the Beastway elluded me?? I couldn't find the darned place. Was convinced it was off Lea Bridge Road. I drove up and down the spot that I thought it was and then gave up and went to catch up with mate. Drove home another way and drove past it. Doh!
I won't even begin to try saying I'll make it next week, cos I know you won' t believe me, Mike and I'm not sure I have any belief left in myself!!!!
A Bientot

Plucked up the courage to do Beastway last night. Turned up early due to nerves and did a trial lap a bit too fast and nearly stacked it, Mike turned up and I did another lap with him a bit slower, foolishly entered myself in single-class men class instead of novice and started the race nearer the front than I would have liked and finally carried enough water in my new camelbak for a full days ride.I thought that the race was over after the third lap because I could hear a bell ringing only to have my girlfriend and my brother shouting "one more lap jel". Don't know how I managed the last circuit, coasted it and pushed up every hill breathing like an asthmatic donkey. Finished last. Probably.
Had agreat time though, everyone very encouraging and polite as they lap you riding flat out for the second time.
Hope your leg's okay Mike and I'll try to make it out for one of the weekend rides, not moving till the 18th of July now.

Not telling! I'll be on it on the weekend after trying not to wash the micro dirt off and give it a good polish!
As yet no name, but all offers welcome! |

Am out tomorrow, so see you at the usual roundabout spot.
Good on you, Jel. You've put me completely to shame. I salute you! |
