Hi Guys, I've been using the Motorbikers tea hut recently, actually on and off for years, but more recently. I've found the quality of their filled rolls is better than Carls tea hut up at High Beach. Plus they are now doing hot food as well, bacon butties etc.

What on earth is going on at the tea bar next to the Kings Oak, I vowed never to use that again a long long time ago, but the other day whilst out riding, both the smaller tea huts were closed, so I was forced to use it, I threw away the tea and the roll, absolute crap, so no change there then. Plus the service was abismal, it looked like it was being run by some pikeys.

I will always continue to use Carl's tea hut opposite the Kings Oak, but I just think IMO the food is better at the motorbikers hut, and the tea is superb. Although, the view isn't quite so good.

Just thought I'd share my findings.

For any riders that don't know where the Motor Bikers tea hut is, it's just up from the Robin Hood Round-a-Bout off the A104 Epping New Road.

But then you have to stand about surrounded by smelly, oily motorbikers! Shocked

Which would obviously be a lot worse than smelly, muddy mountain bikers!?

Definitely go if you can! Some excellent riding to be had, very different to the Forest!

Reminded me of Wales a lot but without the cost or time contraints! It's as close time-wise as Epping for me now so I'll be splitting my time between the two once I have some time again (work, family, etc). Hopefully see you either there or Epping the weekend after next?

An Epics Away-Day, to Holmbury/Leith/Pitch perhaps?
Very Happy

Not sure what world you live in mate.
Don't think the guy's and girls that have just spent 3 to 10k plus on there bikes and leathers will be to pleased about being called smelly and oily.
Infact I was talking to a really nice guy there the other day, his crash helmet was a £1000 with the paint job on it. I think he'd of pissed off I said, yeah nice lid, but you smell real bad.

My post wasn't really about Carls tea hut, I know Carls is good, and as I said, I will always continue to use it, I was just pointing out that I think the bikers tea hut is better, the food is better, and better value for money, and presented better, and that the one next to the Kings Oak is absolute crap, and they ought to be ashamed of themselves.

I think you'd be suprised how nice and friendly the motor bikers are, infact many different people have come over and talked to me about my MTB, and asked loads of questions re mountain biking.

LOL - er...methinks BigGT's post was just tongue-in-cheek (note use of smilies as a text modifier old bean) - not a personal assault on motorbikers!

Robo,

Sorry if I was not clear with my Wink that I was joking! Hence the comment on smelly MTBers. I suppose that if you'd met me before you'd know my sense of humour, too.

I quite like motorbikes and would consider getting one myself if it was not for so many idiots in cars.

My Dad (Diversion 900) and my sister (Thundercat 600(?)) are both very keen motorbikers too, my Dad for the last 50-odd years.

But then our whole family does smell really badly!!
