Hopefully you will have heard by now that Beastway kicks off again in 2008 on Wednesday May 21st at 7.30pm.

If we have made a profit at the end of the series, this will be donated
to worthy cycling projects in and around London. If you
know of a project that may qualify, please let us know.
The venue will be the same as last year - Hainault Forest County Park, Romford Road, Hainault IG7 4QN - we had hoped to get into the new MTB venue at Redbridge Cycling Centre (Hog Hill), but the full MTB track won't be ready until about August or possibly September.
Please note that Beastway will have just 6 events this year, and these will take place on Alternate Wednesdays. There are a couple of reasons for this:
1. The circuit has had to be cut slightly from last year's, due to other pressures on park usage.
2. We're a little down on personnel too, so volunteers will be very welcome!
3. We felt that it would be a fair bit more difficult to put this year's series on - but rather than call off the series for this year we'd keep you all ticking over with fewer events, but then hopefully come back to full strength next year at the new venue.
Early signs are that the MTB circuit across the road at Hog Hill will be really exciting, and definitely worth waiting for! However, as the trails are not yet fully laid, and surface materials need to settle and bed in a bit, you are asked NOT to take any sneaky peeks at the new place just yet.
Your 4 best results from the 5 counting rounds contribute to the series scores.
If you would like to volunteer for helping set out the circuit (Free Race) or anything else, please email back or phone me on 07930 397245.
Happy Racing,

Just like to express thanks to all the riders who came for the beastway, maybe a few more may be up for the challenge, and what a great support team, are you going to join the ride next time Ze. By the way Happy Birthday to Caz, hope you realise I only let you pass me as a birthday gift, you won't do it next time. Now you may realise why I try to make saturdays ride 'fast & furoius', just to try and get a bit of the same sensation as doing beastway. (well a little bit anyway). The chain gremlins were certainly out in force last night, three times the chain dropped of the front ring, having to stop twice to reset it, which failed to impress the riders behind me. I feel a call to Jim the mobile bike mechanic before the next race is in order plus it would be better to have a front brake that works. Well thats my excuses for race 1 , no doubt I'll have found some new ones for race 2. Hope to see you over the weekend.

ill be up for the next one.....
Mick tbh I think the single track you put together in Epping is much better than the Beastway course....I think its the momentum we need to capture more but I guess that what you get with a field of 100+ bikers.
Might be out Monday.....enjoy your weekend. |

I hope the bad weather isn't going to put anyone off from doing round two of Beastway tomorrow. My landlord has decided to fit a new shower cubicle in my flat from Wednesday morning till Thursday night so i for one am hoping it's not too muddy.
See you there
